Form Wash L error messages

Form Wash L error messages

The Form Wash L touchscreen displays error messages if the machine encounters any abnormalities and displays more details about the error.

诊断日志

The Form Wash L maintains diagnostic logs to provide detailed information about the machine’s functionality. Include these diagnostic logs with other relevant observations and details when contacting Formlabs Support or your authorized reseller to speed up resolution.

To upload diagnostic logs via PreForm:

  1. Open the latest version of PreForm.
  2. Click File > Accessories in the menu bar. The Accessory List window appears.
  3. Select the Form Wash L’s serial name. The Device Details window for the selected Form Wash L appears.
  4. Click Download Logs. A confirmation window appears.
  5. Click Browse to download the diagnostic logs to a preferred location on your computer.
  6. Click OK. The diagnostic logs save and appear in the encrypted FORMLOGS format.
  7. Attach the file when contacting Formlabs Support or your authorized reseller.

Bucket already down

The Form Wash L displays the message The bucket is already down if it attempts to lower the basket mount and platform mount when they are already at their lowest position. Power cycle the machine by disconnecting and reconnecting the power.

Bucket already raised

The Form Wash L displays the message The bucket is already raised if it attempts to raise the basket mount and platform mount when they are already at their highest position. Power cycle the machine by disconnecting and reconnecting the power.

Device position unknown

The Form Wash L displays the message The device position is unknown if it attempts to raise the basket mount and platform mount when they are in an unknown position. Power cycle the machine by disconnecting and reconnecting the power.

Device already moving

The Form Wash L displays the message The device is already moving if it attempts to raise or lower the basket mount and platform mount while they are still in motion. Power cycle the machine by disconnecting and reconnecting the power.

Call to DBus failed

The message The call to DBus failed indicates that a firmware error has occurred. Power cycle the machine by disconnecting and reconnecting the power. If you see this error message repeatedly, contact Formlabs Support or an authorized reseller.

Invalid reply to DBus

The message The reply to the DBus was invalid indicates that a firmware error has occurred. Power cycle the machine by disconnecting and reconnecting the power. Check for debris or obstructions that would prevent the platform mount from moving. If you see this error message repeatedly, contact Formlabs Support or an authorized reseller.

Motor move failure

The Form Wash L displays the message Moving the motor failed if it encounters an issue while performing a motor movement. Power cycle the machine by disconnecting and reconnecting the power. Check for debris or obstructions that would prevent the platform mount from moving.

Device not currently running

The Form Wash L displays the message The device is not currently running if it attempts to cancel an ongoing cycle while no wash cycle is in progress. Power cycle the machine by disconnecting and reconnecting the power.

Device state invalid

The Form Wash L displays the message The device state is currently invalid if it attempts to cancel an ongoing cycle while the machine is in an invalid state. Power cycle the machine by disconnecting and reconnecting the power.

Solvent monitor errors

The Form Wash L can display several error messages to indicate that there is an issue with the solvent monitor. These include:

  • Insert Solvent Monitor
  • Solvent Monitor Error
  • Solvent type listed as Unknown
  • Unexpected Solvent Reading
  • General Unexpected Error
  • Temperature Out of Range
  • The solvent temperature is too high
  • Machine reporting that solvent is saturated with resin despite being new

To resolve most solvent monitor errors:

  1. Update the firmware to the latest version.
  2. Check the temperature of the solvent. If the temperature is below 15 °C (59 °F) for IPA or 18 °C (64.4 °F) for TPM, increase the temperature of the environment around the Form Wash L. If the temperature is above 29 °C (84.2 °F) for either solvent, reduce the temperature of the environment around the Form Wash L.
  3. Check that the solvent monitor is submerged in the solvent.
  4. Check that the solvent monitor cable is fully plugged into the Form Wash L.
  5. Reselect the solvent type on the touchscreen. Check that the selected solvent matches the solvent in the Form Wash L.
  6. If you cannot set your solvent type, drain a portion of the solvent out of the Form Wash L and replace it with higher-concentration solvent (e.g., 99% IPA). The solvent monitor determines solvent concentration by measuring the speed of sound through the liquid. If the solvent is too dilute, this measurement may fall outside of the monitor’s limits, preventing you from selecting a solvent.
  7. Replace the solvent monitor.

Note:

If solvent saturation is increasing while the Form Wash L is idle, consider leaving the basket and platform mount raised when the machine is not in use. The inner lid seal helps minimize solvent evaporation and water absorption, both of which affect the measured solvent saturation.

If you see this error message repeatedly, contact Formlabs Support or an authorized reseller. Ensure the Form Wash L is connected to the internet to send diagnostic logs to Formlabs Support.

Unknown error

The Form Wash L displays the message An unknown error occurred if it encounters some other unspecified issue. Power cycle the machine by disconnecting and reconnecting the power.
