Form Wash L impeller decoupling and clicking

Form Wash L impeller decoupling and clicking

The Form Wash L impellers are held onto the impeller motors with magnets. If something knocks the impellers loose, the bucket is not lined up properly, or the stir magnets and impeller magnets are not strongly coupled together, the impellers may briefly decouple from the motors, then recouple.

  1. Check for debris in the wash bucket that may be obstructing the impeller.

If you contact Formlabs Support or your authorized reseller about this issue, please provide the following information:

  • A video of the Form Wash L running with sound
  • A photo showing how full the wash bucket was when you encountered the issue, if not clear from the video
  • Photo of the wash bucket serial number, located in the bottom-right corner of the rear of the bucket
  • Wash bucket flatness measurement
  • A photo of the impellers with their center caps removed, showing the six magnets in each impeller. If any of the magnets are tilted, do not push them back into place before taking the picture—show the magnets as they were when the unit was in use.

To measure the flatness of your wash bucket:

  1. Empty the wash bucket.
  2. Remove the wash bucket from the Form Wash L.
  3. Remove the inner lid assembly from the wash bucket.
  4. Turn the wash bucket upside down and place it on a flat surface.
  5. Place a straight edge across the bottom of the wash bucket, corner to corner.
  6. Measure the widest gap between the straight edge and the bottom of the wash bucket.
